We are continuing to ramp up our blood donation initiative in 2014 and we hope, not only get more people to donate blood with us, but we hope to build the culture of blood donation.
Currently in Trinidad and Tobago we use an estimated *30,000 units of blood every year but we in fact only receive around 20,000 units, which means we are always in deficit and commonly have blood shortages. The only way to counteract this is by voluntary giving.
For more details on the Blood Donation process and standards for donating blood please see the TTCONNECT.gov Blood Donation Page
For those who have never given blood before and are wondering what its like check out the video below that we found.
Please join us on Tuesday July 15th at the National Transfusion Service at 160 Charlotte St Port Of Spain to donate. If you can’t make it to POS, you can donate at any of these locations;
